Veritas Canvas is a free, browser-based book-cover studio for Amazon KDP, built and run by an independent developer. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no cost for the core studio — your cover is composed in your own browser and is never stored on our servers.

What Veritas Canvas is

Veritas Canvas turns a blank page into a print-ready KDP cover, entirely in the browser. You pick a genre design, type your title and author name, and export a full wrap — front, spine and back — at 300 DPI, with no account and no watermark. It exists for a simple reason: most self-publishers don't need a full graphic-design suite, they need a cover that meets Amazon's exact requirements, quickly and for free.

The KDP specifications behind every design

Every tool here is built on Amazon KDP's published print specifications: spine width from the exact per-page thickness (0.002252 in for white paper, 0.0025 in for cream, plus 0.16 in for a hardcover board), 0.125 in of bleed on trimmed edges, the standard trim sizes, and 300 DPI output. We don't ask you to take those numbers on faith — the calculator, the step-by-step guide and the genre pages show the same math the studio uses, so you can check them yourself:

Free, ad-free, and private

The core studio is free and stays free. Running costs are covered by a few clearly labelled affiliate links to self-publishing tools we recommend — always marked as such, never mixed into the design tools, and never at your expense. There are no ads inside the studio and we don't sell your data. Stock photos come from Unsplash under their standard licenses, and we only collect an email address if you choose to join the KDP tips list — one click to leave, no spam.
